RICS Condition Report

RICS Condition Report is more than a mortgage valuation and less than a Homebuyer report. It gives a clear and concise “snap shot” of the condition of the property and is for the applicant, not the lender. It does not provide a valuation and the inspection for the Condition report involves a head and shoulders only inspection of the roof-space, and does not include lifting drain covers.

RICS Homebuyers Survey

This type of survey is generally more suitable for smaller or more modern properties. It specifically provides advice on what action should be taken prior to the purchaser entering a commitment to proceed, as well as advice on repairs and ongoing maintenance requirements.


RICS Building Survey

The RICS Building Survey is the most comprehensive report from RICs of its kind and should be used for larger or older properties, or when planning major works.

The report provides an in-depth analysis of the property’s condition and includes advice on defects, repairs and maintenance options.

Watsons Building Survey

If you’re dealing with a particularly large or older building, a property of non-traditional construction or if you’re planning major works, choosing a building survey with Watsons is wise. It is a comprehensive inspection and can be tailored to your needs. It includes a valuation of the property and insurance reinstatement costs. This type of survey is very similar to the RICs Building Survey but comes with extra components to your in-depth report
